This kit is intended for major internal engine and cylinder head service. Installation should be completed by a qualified machinist, engine builder, or automotive technician familiar with Chrysler 5.7L HEMI MDS and VVT engines.

Cylinder Head Service

The included valves should not be installed without first inspecting and measuring the cylinder heads. Valve guides, valve seats, springs, retainers, locks, installed height, valve stem clearance, and valve sealing should be checked by a qualified machine shop.

Valve seats may require machining or lapping to achieve the correct sealing pattern. Never assume new valves can be installed into used cylinder heads without inspection or machine work.

Recommended Inspection Procedures

• Inspect the rocker arms and rocker-arm bearings.
• Check all pushrods for wear, bending, or restricted oil flow.
• Inspect the camshaft bearings and cam journals.
• Inspect valve springs, retainers, and valve locks.
• Measure valve guide clearance before assembly.
• Check valve seats for wear, recession, cracking, or heat damage.
• Inspect the MDS solenoids and oil-control passages.
• Clean all cylinder head and engine oil passages thoroughly.
• Remove all metal debris from the original camshaft or lifter failure.
• Verify adequate engine oil pressure before returning the vehicle to service.
• Prime the lubrication system before initial startup.
• Follow all factory timing, torque, and assembly procedures.

Fitment Notice

This kit is designed for select 2009-2022 5.7L HEMI engines equipped with factory MDS and VVT. It is not intended for non-MDS engines or MDS-delete conversions.
