Professional Installation Recommended

This performance camshaft package is intended for installation by a qualified engine builder or certified machinist familiar with 6.4L Apache HEMI valvetrain systems, variable cam timing, and MDS-delete conversions.

A compatible phaser limiter or phaser lock is required and is not included. Engine calibration may also be required following installation.

Non-MDS Conversion Notice

This kit includes non-MDS hydraulic roller lifters and four MDS solenoid block-off plugs for compatible non-MDS engine configurations or MDS-delete conversions.

The supplied product information does not indicate that additional conversion components such as timing components, pushrods, tuning, valley cover components, or phaser hardware are included.

Recommended Inspection Procedures

• Inspect camshaft bearings before installation.
• Inspect rocker arms, rocker shafts, pushrods, and valve tips.
• Verify piston-to-valve clearance.
• Verify pushrod length and valvetrain geometry.
• Inspect timing chain, guides, tensioner, sprockets, and phaser.
• Install the supplied MDS block-off plugs according to the engine builder's procedure.
• Clean all oil passages thoroughly.
• Remove all debris from previous camshaft or lifter failures.
• Prime the lubrication system before initial startup.
• Verify oil pressure before placing the engine into service.
• Follow COMP Cams installation procedures and factory torque specifications.
• Use fresh engine oil and a new oil filter after assembly.
